This is not a first post
In some senses, of course, it is a first post. In the sense it is the first post on the page, yes. In the sense it is the first post that has ever been on this page, no. Previously this was basically a workblog, a portfolio site. Someone told me to write about something, I wrote about it and I put a link on here to whatever it was. It served to show people interested in hiring me what I could do, what I had done, what I was going to do and that I didn’t update my blog very often.
Having spent a good couple of years working for very little, doing enough to prove that I had some sort of writing ability, I started hunting for full-time employment. The resulting job, at Bauer in Camden, meant that the amount of other work I was doing slipped to almost nothing, which made this blog rather redundant. In the last year or so, almost everything I have written has been for private consumption…or at least for delayed consumption. Thankfully, the majority of words I’ll be putting into some form of order in the next few weeks have got a destination in mind.
But there is other stuff, ponders of little things undeserving of being published somewhere proper but that I’d still like to write about. And it is things like that, dribbles, that I intend to put here. Work stuff too, particularly the cool stuff, but to a lesser extent.
Hopefully I’ll enjoy it. I paid way too much for the hosting; I was drunk when I reactivated it.
